“I am the 1 in 4” hopes to empower university students to lead and participate in campus initiatives that aim to end various forms of interpersonal violence. Advocating for the eradication of violence on campus includes participating in conversations and exploring initiatives that contribute to the safety of college students. Supporting student groups that focus on campaigning against violence, and creating spaces for students who have experienced violence, strengthens campus communities overall.

“I am the 1 in 4” supports efforts to minimize all forms of violence on university campuses. Safety on campus impacts the well-being of college students and the attitudes, behaviors, and standards of campus communities. Substance Misuse & Abuse
I am the 1 in 4” encourages students to support each other. By working together, many forms of on-campus violence can be eradicated. In certain situations, timely medical attention might be needed to support someone and the fear police involvement may influence the decision to request much needed help. Students can research the medical amnesty laws of their university and/or state that might protect them if they seek medical attention for someone after engaging in illegal behavior(s).
